EXPLORING THE CORRELATION: STUDENTS’ INTEREST AND THEIR ENGLISH LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT

چکیده

This research aim was to find out the correlation between students’ interest and their English learning achievement. The question “Is there any significant achievement?” applied correlational method. subjects tenth grade students of SMKN 5 Makassar. data collected through questionnaire score documentation. In analyzed data, researcher used quantitative analysis. result analysis showed that is positive Interest achievement at proved by coefficience rcount 0,814 > rtable 0,344 in 5% degree. Based on a table, index (rxy = 0,814) interval 0.70 – 0.90, this means belongs “strong correlation”. Therefore, higher Makassar will be.
